Just curious about that response. Did I post to the wrong forum or something?

Or does it not make sense that people would be interested in hearing about Sierra On-Line?

Ah, ignore that guy, his posts are pretty sparse anyway (hypocritical comment of the day :D ).

My question would be, what makes you so qualified to talk about Sierra on-Line, for example? I mean, it's hardly news to our ears about the history, franchises, and playing them. Besides, I have the sneaking suspicion that your advice on how to play them would be at least slightly incorrect, nothing personal, just that over 50% of advice given in that area is usually rubbish (I run 2 Sierra website forums and one website, and have visited them all, almost).

Death of comedy games is an interesting topic, however. have you read Al Lowe's recent interview about his new game, Sam Suede? That's an interesting read in itself.

Finally, will the programme have a Mp3 recording for download, ro a transcript? Podcasts interest me zero and since I'm in Australia, the time is probably not convenient anyway.

Thanks for posting this though, we appreciate it. Really :)

Really good questions. Our goal is not to be experts on the subject. Essentially we were all gamers "back in the day", and what we strive for is discussing things that meant a lot to us when we were growing up. For each podcast we spend many hours researching the material that is available in books, on the internet, etc. We want to provide a decent picture with accurate information.

One reason we do the podcast is to allow the current generation of gamers to understand some of the historical points in gaming's history. Something that is different from the majority of the podcasts out there that just rant on today's latest and greatest games.

At the same time, our listeners that are "older gamers" typically get many of those "ah, I remember that!" moments, so that is great as well.

Talking specifically about Sierra, their games obviously played a major role for us. I am sure there is little (if anything) we present that avid viewers of this site wouldn't know. In fact, some of the information presented came from this site, and therefore is credited in our show links. However some of the more casual fans may hear something new or interesting.

As far as Sam Suede goes I talked with Al Lowe prior to doing the podcast. We talked about his game, and his views on the death of comedy. We mention this during the show. I am also working on an interview for an upcoming show with a fairly famous Sierra programmer. In the past we have interviewed other classic gaming programmers.

Our advice on how to play them may be misunderstood. We talk about companies like AGD that allow people to play the games today, etc. Essentially, we provide information about how gamers today could experience these classics.

There is an MP3 download directly on our site (you don't have to subscribe for the podcasts, etc.). As far as notes go, we provide a synopsis on the site, but nothing more detailed than that at this time.

Awesome Chris, very awesome.

One question- is the MP3 the whole show?

Yeah, the MP3 is the whole show. I think it is around 1 hour and 45 minutes total.
