Help with Mission Force: CyberStorm

Postby M C Self » Wed Nov 08, 2006 4:18 pm

Hello everyone,

I am trying to get a buddy CD of Mission Force: Cyberstorm to run. So far I tried copying the CD to my C: drive. Then setting up the compatabilitly mode on the exe file to win95 and 256 colors per some other info I had found. The autorun installer just hangs :/

I have also tried setting it up to run in DOSBox. But it will not run. It truly seems to be a Window only game.

Any help with this would be much appriciated. Oh and I am running XP Pro if that leads to any incite...

I don't know if anyone else has good advice, but it sounds like you're screwed. If the compatibility options don't help, then there's not much you can do unless there's a patch floating around the internet. Early Windows games are the hardest to get working in XP.

Copy the CD to your hard drive in a temporary folder, and try editing the SIERRA.INF file using notepad, if there is one.

You'll see some lines where it checks for 256c, WindowsNT (which is basically what XP shows up as) etc. Just edit those out, then try running the installer.

Hope that helps :)
